LED rental video screens
In recent years, the demand for rental LED screens has been increasing every day. At the moment, rental information LED screens are installed at almost all public events, concerts, exhibitions, conferences to display pre-prepared graphic information or video stream from cameras.
In this case, the video stream can be transmitted from an almost unlimited number of cameras using additional equipment (video processor, video mixer, matrix switcher).
The acquired rental LED screen will very quickly recoup the acquisition costs and start making a profit, especially in light of the demand for rented video screens. Therefore, buying a rental screen and renting it out will be a good source of income.
Technical features
Before purchasing rental screens, you need to understand the type of equipment and all the necessary and related peripherals to it. In general, the rental LED display is a conventional video display in an "improved" and lightweight design.
If necessary, a quick-assembly video screen can be made not only on conventional modules using SMD or DIP technology (step from p0.9 and higher), used in any video screens, but also on modules with a lattice structure - translucent modules. In this case, the pixel pitch can be p6, p8 and p10. These modules are often used on stages during any concert or event - they transmit light, sound, “stage smoke”, and also reduce the wind load on the rental display.
The main difference is the lightweight body of the blocks, which can be made in several versions:
-
Cast blocks of aluminum or magnesium
In this case, a rental outdoor LED screen will weigh about 40 kg / m 2, a rental indoor LED screen - 20 kg/m 2. At the same time, the difference in weight in the case of a rolling screen for a room is due to the absence of a moisture-proof sealant, and a lighter module case (for rooms there is no need for high rigidity of the module case);
-
Aluminum profile blocks
Weight per m 2 will be about 16-17 kg, and the price will decrease by 25-30%;
It is impractical to make steel blocks, since in this case the rolling video screen becomes heavier by 10-15 kg per m 2, so installation is no longer easy, convenient and fast.
Dimensions and fastening of rolling blocks
Depending on the size of the modules, the most common sizes of rolling blocks are as follows, (mm): 480x480, 500x500, 576x576, 640x640, 960x960, 500x1000.
Each unit has a system of fastening locks that allow you to assemble rental video screens without using any tools in just a couple of hours.
For the convenience of transportation and storage, we strongly recommend purchasing cases (plywood boxes) for the rolling screen, in which, depending on the size of the blocks, 3-4 or 6-8 blocks can be placed.
Any rolling boards are attached by means of lifting rails (while the number of required rails is equal to the number of blocks horizontally) in two ways:
- The truss is made of aluminum alloy, which has high strength and hardness;
- For lifting mechanisms (stage mechanics, winches, hoists). The winches can be electric (synchronous and asynchronous) with a control panel and manual (hoists). The required number of winches is determined by the total weight of the rolling screen, the lifting capacity of the winch and the length of the screen (that is, the need to evenly distribute the load);
Rolling screen control
Any rental screens are controlled through specialized software on a computer or laptop.
The connection between the rental screen and the computer is carried out via a LAN cable (up to 100 meters in order to avoid signal loss) or via optical fiber, if the cable length is more than 100 meters, there is a possibility of interference.
In most cases, quick-assembled video screens are equipped with additional equipment to work with various video streams. Initially, it is necessary to determine what type of equipment will be used and after that the number and type of required inputs (AV, S-Video, VGA, DVI, YPbPr, HDMI, SDI, DP), as well as the required stream resolution (SD, HD, FullHD, 4K , 8K).
-
Video processor
With the help of the video processor, a digital signal of different formats is received from different devices, the video stream is scaled to the desired resolution.
And also the video processor supports a minimum of effects for working with a picture (picture in picture, transition, switching). The computer and video processor can be placed in the control unit case for ease of use.
-
Video mixer
The need for a video mixer arises when additional signal inputs are required (different types of equipment contain a different number of inputs for different types of equipment), as well as a large selection of effects for working with displaying images on a rolling screen.
A video mixer without a video processor cannot scale an image to a non-standard resolution. For example, we have an incoming video stream with a resolution of 1920x1080, a screen with a resolution of 1280x720 and we have only a video mixer and no video processor, then only some part of the image will be displayed on the screen, the rest will be cropped.
Mobile power supplies
Also additional equipment that can be added to the rental display of variable information - mobile power supply units.
They are necessary for conveniently connecting power to the screen. This power rack box has the required number of connectors and sockets. That is, the lead-in electric cable is connected to the case, and the screen blocks are powered from it.
